In class, we were tasked with creating an interactive video tutorial using H5P. I decided to create a tutorial on how to create a new board on Pinterest, as this is something I am pretty well-versed in. My video is attached below:
I think that using H5P tools would be really useful as a teacher, especially if there is a possibility of school being taught online. I know that for some elementary students, switching from in-person learning to using websites like Google Classroom was a big jump, so including a tutorial like this would be really helpful for those students to get used to the online format.

In my opinion, there is room for video and audio editing as an assignment medium in elementary school. Even just using an application like FlipGrid allows students to take videos and upload them for assessment, and students always get excited when given a tablet or a computer, no matter what they are using it for. For younger grades, you could task the students with creating stop-motion videos as an art assignment, or for science, they could create virtual science demonstrations online using software like Screencastify and H5P. I think as long as the assignment allows the students to have some input so they can make the video about something they are actually interested in, students will be very engaged.
As future teachers, it is important for us to understand the Multi-media Learning Theory. Even when creating PowerPoints or videos for our students to watch during class, we have to make sure they are receiving information in the most engaging and effective way possible.
When watching the YouTube video “What is Multi-media Learning?”, I found that sometimes it was difficult to focus on just one aspect of the video. Because the speaker was talking, with words on the screen, as well as images, it was over-stimulating and I couldn’t focus on the important information. It is important that as a future teacher, I am able to include images when necessary, that only point out the most important aspects of the concept. I do not want to make my students confused when teaching them something new, so it is important that I remember the Multi-media Learning Theory.

The Flipped Classroom teaching model could be very effective, especially for older grades. I think that students will always learn more when they are in an interactive environment, and able to discuss the course concepts with each other.
I found an infographic from the University of Florida that accurately represents the concept of the Flipped Classroom teaching model:

The Flipped Classroom model is definitely effective, however, because students would have to watch course material outside of class, the Flipped Classroom model puts a lot of responsibility on the children.
I think that students in grades 4-8 could handle this quite well, but for the younger grades I think parents would have to be on board in order to help their children stay on track, and look at the required materials before class-time. On the other hand, this is a great method that would foster responsibility in children at a young age, and young students would learn that they are in charge of their homework and responsibilities.
