I finally finished my sweater vest! As you can see in the picture above, my vest is all done.
The final few steps were fairly simple, as I just had to duplicate the first panel I created, and then add the ribbing. My ribbing is slightly messy, so I might go back and redo it, but I think it’s pretty good for my first try!
In the tutorial on the Hay Hay Crochet website, it states that the ribbing on the neck, arms, and bottom is totally optional. I decided to try it out on the bottom, and I might add it to the neck and sleeves later on. Overall, I am really happy with how it turned out! It is the first piece of clothing I have crocheted myself, and it was a great piece to start with.
Since it is our second last week of our free inquiry, I won’t have enough time to complete another project before my final reflection and wrap-up. I didn’t get as many projects done as I wanted to, but I was pretty ambitious in thinking that I would get an entire sweater done after completing this sweater vest!
I thought I would list a couple of projects below that I hope to complete in the future!
Crochet Sweater by Emma P
This is the sweater I had hoped to complete during my inquiry. Obviously that didn’t happen, but I did already buy the yarn for it so I plan to make it at some point! I bought some really pretty green yarn off of Etsy that I am really excited to use to make this!
Book Cozy by @BrennaAnnHandmade
This is a super quick and cute crochet project that I’m excited to try! I have a lot of bulky yarn leftover from when I tried to learn how to knit a while ago, and this book cozy is such a cute way to protect my books when I put them in my bags.
Flower Throw Pillow on Kitz Knitz
This is a project that is more challenging than the others I have listed, but I really want to make one of these pillows. I think it would be so cool to crochet more home decor items, and I could make so many different pillows in different colours!
I am really excited to get some of these projects done. Come back next week for my final reflection and thoughts about my free inquiry process!
