Free Inquiry: learning to crochet

Free Inquiry: learning to crochet

For my free inquiry project, I have decided to focus on crocheting! I took up crochet as a hobby a month ago. I have only mastered 2 types of stitches, and I made 1 produce bag. Hopefully, throughout this semester, I will be able to learn more about crochet and work on some more projects!

I bought some pretty basic crochet materials when I first started learning. The main thing I bought was this learn to crochet kit from Michaels. It was about $20, and it includes a couple of different sizes of crochet hooks, a measuring tape, some darning needles, and a booklet of projects that are easy for beginners.

I have a bunch of yarn leftover from when I used to knit, and I also found a bunch of yarn on Facebook Marketplace for $5 that I purchased!

All of this yarn for $5!!

I have found a bunch of projects online that are free to make, and that I am really excited to try out once I know how to do all of the basic stitches. My first project is going to be some flower-shaped coasters, and then I hope to increase my skill level from there as the weeks go on. By the end of this inquiry, I am hoping I will be able to crochet a sweater! (but that might be slightly ambitious)

Below is the video I used this week to refresh my memory on the basic stitches, such as the chain stitch and a single crochet.

I am excited to explore this hobby, and see what I can create throughout this semester!
