This is my final post about my crochet free inquiry exploration! I had so much fun learning how to crochet, and I am really happy with the progress I have made throughout the 10 weeks I have been doing this for.
I was trying to think of a way I could use a multimedia strategy to reflect on the crochet projects I have made, and I thought what better way than to make a TikTok ranking all of the crochet projects I have made so far? This was super fun to make, and I finally learned how to use the Siri voice-over effect that I see so much on TikTok. Enjoy the video below!
I think this TikTok accurately represents my crochet progress over the past few weeks. I started out simple with coasters in the shape of flowers, and my first one was pretty terrible. But then, I kept on trying, and my next 2 were pretty good! I think you can see my improvement throughout the video when looking at all of the different projects.

Although I didn’t rank my final project, the sweater vest, the highest, that’s because it was definitely the most difficult project I tackled. I made it pretty small and I am not a big fan of the ribbing, so I’m not sure I will wear it too often, but I’m really glad I tried to make it so I know what it’s like to make something with arm holes and a neck hole. It was great experience, and I like that in the TikTok I made, you can see that the projects I complete get harder and harder as I go on.

One of my main takeaways from this inquiry is how many free resources there are online. As you can see in the picture above, just googling “free crochet patterns” brings up so many hits and so many different pages that offer a wide variety of free tutorials for all skill levels. I think that completing an inquiry like this would have been a lot harder without the technology available to me.
Originally, I had tried to learn just from a little booklet I got with an introductory crochet kit. However, looking at diagrams and reading words to learn something is really difficult when you have no background knowledge of the topic. So, turning to YouTube was the clear step for me, and it helped me so much.
Because of this inquiry project, I have found a brand new hobby that I am going to stick with! There are so many things I want to crochet now, and the fact that there are so many videos and websites available to me is amazing. There are so many talented people out there with blogs and YouTube accounts of their own, and I am very grateful I didn’t have to spend money on any patterns or tutorials during this process. It’s awesome how many people post things online just to help teach other people how to do something, all for free!

I hope you have enjoyed following along with my free inquiry process! I am definitely going to continue with crochet, it’s a really mindless hobby for me that I can do to relax and slow down after a long day of school.

Thanks for reading, and bye for now!
